Some new options
Envoyé par : Themuzz  le 05/11/2008 12:26
Hi,

If our mysql server is down, phptraffica gives an error, saying it cannot connect to the mysql server. Now I would like to be able to specify this text or to forward to an specific page with more information. This can't be so hard, I also coded it in myself with the php header function.

Let me know what you think about it.

Well, it is a configuration issue, password, permissions... something like that...

I think you misunderstood the question.

Sometime our server is down, it crashes (yeah, we have to buy a new one). But if phptraffica cannot connect to the server (because it crashed) it show the following error:

<br>Can not connect to database in count.php: ".mysql_error() (but then php parsed ofcourse)

I would like to add an page where phptraffica should point at when he cannot connect to mysql. So not the standard error but my own error page. I've alse made it myself but everytime you bring out an update I have to change it again..

Hope you understand

Indeed, I did not understand the question!

Technically, this is easy. But how to deal with individual configurations? Most people handle their errors differently. I do not know how to offer a solution that would work for everyone.

Any suggestion?

Perhaps you should give the option to forward to a specific page (that would handle the error) or give the option to include an personal php file that will handle and echo a specific error.

Something like:
$mysql_error_type = "forward";
$mysql_error_location = "http://www.google.com/";

Or

$mysql_error_type = "include";
$mysql_error_location = "/var/blaat/file.php";

Or

$mysql_error_type = "default";
$mysql_error_location = "";

But than with correct names etc :)

Let me know what you think about it.

Yep, that is not bad. I'll add it in the todo list for future versions.
I get you a coffee!
