phpTrafficA is a GPL statistical tool for website monitoring, written in php and mySQL. It can track access counts to your website, search engines, keywords, and referrers that lead to you, operating systems, web browsers, visitor retention, traffic patterns, visitor path, and a lot more!
Ease of use
Installing phpTrafficA should be a breeze. The only thing you need is a server with php, mysql, and the GD library installed, about 2 megabyte of disk space (1 for the program and another for the databases, after a year or so), and 1 minute to install it!
With phpTrafficA you can monitor multiple sites, local or remote, in pure php or javascript for HTML pages. Administrator rights are not required so phpTrafficA can be used without problems on hosted websites.
Page views and unique visitors
phpTrafficA tracks traffic for your entire site and for individual pages on your site. Unique visitors reports are more specific than page views reports, because they track "unique visitors." A person visiting your site might hit the front page three times, a forum seven times, and several other pages once each. With phpTrafficA, you'll be able to count those as exactly.
Visitors profile
phpTrafficA includes a real IP to country database, unlike most other free statistics packages that guess countries from domain name and tell you that 60% of your visitors come from a great country called .com! With phpTrafficA, you'll know exactly the country they come from.
Obviously, you will want to know other typical statistics found in other packages, such and what operating system and web browser do your visitors use. Do not worry, phpTrafficA will definitely get you those.
Traffic analysis and visitors
Since version 1.2, phpTrafficA includes one of the best traffic pattern analysis available. You can use this feature to track the viewing habits of your visitors. What is the path of your latest visitors? What are the entry and exit pages? How do the visitors move between your pages? What is the visitor flow along a given path? phpTrafficA will tell you all of this.
Also, you might want to know how long visitors stay on your site, and how many clicks you get per visit. Once again, phpTrafficA includes it!

By the way, did I not tell you, phpTrafficA is licenced under the GPL, so you can use it and distribute it, for free, as long as the code and the modifications you make remain public. Limitations
On the other hand, phpTrafficA is not designed for very high traffic websites, needing precise hourly statistics, but for those of us who manage average-traffic websites (a few hundreds page views per day) and want to see who is dropping by... Logging function is fast and size of database kept to a reasonable size by removing un-necessary information.
