ZoneO-tips for Mandriva Linux

Need help with Linux? Well, I've been dealing with Linux for some time now, and I love it. But, like with any other computer system, there are still a few glitches that can cause you trouble... and since I never remember how I worked around an issue, I decided to take some notes and make them accessible to the community!

LaCie d2 DVD±RW, 04/27/2005

Well, I just gave a try to a LaCie d2 double layer DVD±RW DVD burner. I was using Mandrake 10.1, and trying to burn a DVD+R of 4.7 GBytes.

When I tried as a user, something went wrong (k3b was asking for a DVD-R and I did not insist). But as root, it worked straight out the box! No software install, no twiking, nothing.
